Ongoing Projects

Under the guidance of Dr Nida Chenagtsang, NMI Australia resources funding for various projects to support Tibetan children and those in hardship both in Tibet and India. Through these projects, we offer Australians the unique opportunity to participate in the development of health, education and housing for the people of Tibet.

We welcome donations to support these programs. Through your support, these projects can continue to exist and grow.

Ngakma School (girls school) - Founded in September 2003, this school is based in Karjid Villiage, Trika Country in Amdo. It is the first Tibetan Yogi Girls School. In order to preserve Tibetan Culture, in particular the Ngakpa Tradition, the students are educated in studies of Traditional Tibetan Culture. Click here for more information...

Kisen School (co-educational) - The Kisen School is a local government preliminary school in Malho county (Henan, Quinghai) Amdo. Its located 40kms south of the town of Malho. There are many nomadic families in that region and this school is the only means to basic education for their children. Click here for more information...

Sechen Nuns Retreat - The Sechen Retreat Centre was founded by Sherab Gyatso in 1871 in Amdo and was re-established in 1920 by his students Jigdral Trinle Namgyal and Tsultrim Sangmo. It was destroyed in 1957 and then in 1982, Ani Kunchok Sangmo, a nun, rebuilt the centre where a small group of nuns now practice 12 hour s of meditation daily. With the aid of NMI USA, new initiatives to assist Tibetan Women are underway. Click here for more information...

Ngakpa Trust India - The Ngakpa Trust India addresses the needs of Tibetan refugees residing in the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Majnu Ka-Tilla, Delhi, India. It currently has 7 Tibetan students who are in need of sponsorship assistance.
